Summer of STATE

In Chicago, summer isn’t just a season; it’s something you prepare for all year. With three months to compensate for a winter spent indoors, Chicagoans don’t let a day of summer go to waste. With that in mind, STATE was determined to break out of the factory.

And so the Summer of STATE pop-up series was born. Fridays throughout the summer, we traveled around the city, bringing our summer essentials to share – shades and spirits. Thanks to everyone who was able to join us and a very special thanks to our friends at Few Spirits for bringing the drinks!

Here’s a peek at what we got up to:

STATE @ Few Fridays

Small-batch, consciously-made bourbon is more than reason enough to love Few Spirits. Opening a distillery in Evanston, IL, once the home of the temperance movement, and shaking their fist at history makes us love them even more. If you haven’t been to a Few Friday event yet, we highly recommend it. Fine spirits, fun food trucks, and great music. We had a blast opening up the sunglass trunk on a steamy Few Friday in July.

STATE Lolla Hangover Brunch

Summer in Chicago always feels somehow anchored around Lollapolooza. The way Independence Day defines July, the energy around Chicago changes as Lolla nears. To get the most out of a four day music fest, you need to plan some time to recharge yourself. Enter the STATE Lollapolooza Hangover brunch at Joe’s on Weed Street. An opportunity to relax, rehydrate, and reassess your festival sunglass style.

STATE @ Pilsen Second Friday’s

Pilsen Second Friday’s has helped to define the ever-evolving neighborhood of Pilsen as the center of Chicago’s up-and-coming art scene. The second Friday of each month, area artist lofts and studios open their doors to the public to view the latest exhibitions. Armed with Few gin lemonades and our latest styles, STATE had a blast taking over a Pilsen studio in August.

With Labor Day weekend already upon us, it’s time to pack the STATE trunk back up. Where would you like to see STATE pop up next summer?
