The Fall Winter 2021 Collection
Explore the Latest STATE x Japan Styles
The STATE x Japan Artisan Series combines the craft of Sabae, Japan and Chicago, USA. Sabae is where Japanese craftsmen created the world’s first titanium eyeglasses and developed a reputation for mastery that lives on today. In this collection, artisans from both Sabae and Chicago showcase their craft in a robust collection including – titanium styles made in Japan, and combination styles that join the finest Japanese-made titanium temples with STATE’s luxurious American-made acetate fronts.
As the STATE x Japan collection deepens, the designs continue to draw inspiration from the colors and textures of nature. With fall fast approaching, styles explore the cool sky against the deepening colors of the earth. The Cornelia (above) explores deep layers of color, drawing inspiration from texture in nature – like eye-catching Terrazzo and warm wood chips. Its flattering shape, the perfect vehicle to contrast earth tones against its titanium temples. The Wrightwood (below) evokes the clarity of the sky with crystal and gradient colorways, slightly softening the feel of a statement frame to make it more approachable and balance the acetate front with titanium temples.
The titanium styles – Lawrence, Loyola, and Paulina – evoke the city in fall, metal tones representing Chicago’s skyscrapers, hand-painted enamel details simulate the rich details of the city’s world-class architecture, and vibrant acetate temple tips, display the vibrance and warmth of Chicagoans.
